Guidelines and Rules of Conduct Our forum requires that you sign up to become a member. We do this in order to control content on the board and prevent SPAMMING of unrelated or objectionable material. 1. Please keep the topics in the main forum areas fishing related. We have provided a Forum area called "Off Topic Discussions" where posting of non-fishing related discussions may exist. We reserve the right to delete any post for any reason. While we intend to run a relaxed board, there may be times when posted material has been reported as objectionable or offensive. If you find that your post was deleted or moved, it is because we deemed it inappropriate, objectionable or it was in violation of our Terms and Conditions. 2. Do not create more than one user account. If you find it necessary to create a new account, please use the automated Contact feature to notify a board administrator. 3. All questions concerning LSF policies and management are addressed offline via Private Message or email. Comments concerning deleted post, posting privilege suspensions, or other matters of the administrative nature will be deleted. If you have a question about policy, please email one of our board administrators or use the automated Contact feature. Again, don't take your problems to the forum - they will be deleted. 4. Everyone's comments and ideas regarding features and functionality of the web site are appreciated. While we cannot ensure all member comments and ideas for our community will be implemented on the web site, we will try our very best to make this an enjoyable place to visit each day. If you have ideas for new features, functionality, or technical web site issues, please post them in the Technical Support area of our Forum. 5. Foul, abrasive, board-bully, and racial language is not permitted. We all occasionally slip with the colorful expressions. However, the overuse will result in a warning. Foul language makes our web site community look unprofessional. When writing, it is very easy to express yourself without cursing. Use expressionistic symbols (for example: ****) if you insist on embellishing your language. Sponsorship is involved in making this site successful. If our site is not professional, sponsors will not be interested in supporting our cause. 6. We promote a friendly environment for anglers to exchange ideas, thoughts, and comments. Differences of opinions are welcome and are an important part of this format. We do not, however, tolerate those that try to start arguments with every post. This is considered FLAMING and will not be permitted. If you are looking to agitate people, simply to get a response, or if you are a troller, this is not the place for you. Warnings are issued, and if the behavior continues, administrators will revoke posting privileges. 7. Personal attacks are not permitted. If you disagree with someone, state your case intelligently and back it up with facts. We will not tolerate personal attacks on this site. You will be warned once. If the behavior continues, administrators will revoke posting privileges. Additionally, do not use email or Private Messages to conduct personal attacks or member harassment. 8. Do not post personal problems on the forum. Members aren't interested in hearing or discussing personal problems. If you are concerned about an interaction with someone and are interested in resolving it, send them an email outside of this web site (if they offer an email address in their forum profile). 9. No jokes of a sexual nature – just don’t post them. We know some are funny, but there are children that browse our forum and we want to set a positive example. More importantly, our sponsors may not appreciate these jokes. 10. Racism of any kind is strictly prohibited. 11. Guides, fishing related businesses, and other web sites, feel free to promote your services on our site. Please use the "Guides, Lodges or Charters" or "For Sale or Trade" areas to post your specials or ads. Do not promote a site that is a direct competitor of LSF. We consider the guides an asset to the site. Guides offer a wealth of information and we want them visiting the site on a regular basis. 12. We cannot allow critiques or flaming of our sponsors. They make our community web site possible. All threads of this nature will be deleted. 13. When posting items in the "For Sale or Trade" section, do not use multiple user names to post the same item. Also do not post the same item multiple times. If you want to start a new post on an item, delete the old one. 14. Be respectful of other members when using signature images. Some members do not have high-speed Internet and large flashy signature images cause slow page loads. This includes logos, photos and other graphics. Also, no more than one row of images are allowed. If you want four or five logos in your signature, reduce their size to fit in one row. 15. Limit the size of your photos to a maximum of 450 pixels wide. Post clickable thumbnails when possible. Be respectful of other members when using signature images. Some members do not have high-speed Internet and large flashy signature images cause slow page loads. We allow direct upload features to this site, which automatically resize your images to meet our sites display. 16. Do not copy and paste articles from other publications to this site without crediting the author or web site. It is a COPYRIGHT VIOLATION. If you want to reference an article on another web site, post a link. We will be updating this section occasionally. Again, our goal is an open, clean, and friendly format, but when you have a public board rules must be established to keep order. Please keep in mind that deleting, moving, editing or locking of your post is not intended to be an attack or insult. These actions are usually to keep the peace, keep the interaction on the board friendly or keep content in the appropriate section. |
