Japanese super realistic swimbait. It's NOT a taxidermy. All hand carved, hand painted wooden bait. Can you imagine what would take this bait? Wow!

I hope you can go! It won't be happening for me though. Crying The company higher ups changed the deployment method after the tsunami and nuclear meltdown. Go figure.

That would have been a great trip being able to meet you there!

I was really impressed with the detail he did painting the swim bait! Looks like a real bass and maybe a keeper. Big smile

Yes, very much so . I was also impressed by his taking two months to carve it out of wood . And how when the manufacturer didn't get it just right , he denied them production . I can't and don't want to imagine the cost on this beautiful piece of artwork !!! Belongs on my rod or under a glass case !!!!!!! Maybe Smithsonian lol !

We messaged each other last night and he said they were NOT for sale as it took him two months to make . He tried the manufacturer thing but said they couldn't get it right . I would not hesitate to throw that big swimbait here. Looking in that tackle box takes me back to high school and working at the lumber yard . Even though my artwork with magic markers wasn't quite as creative , I made a mean edition of a spook with wood dowels that actually worked . Best color ? I called it "plain wood" !!! Lol

I had a mental visual of an old Japanese man meticulously carving wood to make this lure.

I dug a little deeper and the reality set in.

Those big baits the Japanese make are AWESOME.

They are expensive.

The big ones they make for running in the grass have the treble hooks on top of the bait.

It really takes a lot of talent to make a lure like the one above. You know what they say about really talented types...they just might have a screw loose upstairs. Wink
Supposedly, this is his tackle box and a picture of him holding a couple of nice bass. Obviously, the bass were decorated Rolling Eyes for the picture. I've got another picture of him that made me think about calling in an airstrike. Laughing
